FLAT Kabuki Brush by Claire’s with clear handle

10/10 {My Rating}

I have been looking around, searching,  reading, surfing and what not, everywhere to find a affordable Flat Kabuki Makeup Brush because as we all know that Kabuki brushes are so expensive!  But to my dismay I never found any for a long  time. Then my search ended up on Flat Foundation Brush by Vega and Flat Kabuki by Clarie’s, but didn’t find any review on especially the one by Clarie’s. So that is when I went to buy any one of these and found Claire’s one and decided to review it myself.

As you can probably see this is a very cute pink headed and white body bristled brush with a transparent hard plastic flat bottom handle flashing Claire’s Flat Kabuki. I own a bunch of makeup brushes all by Claire’s bought about 4 years back, back then they had a nudiesh pink body and pink headed ones all of different types. Trust me the bristles of them are very strong I haven’t happen to shed even a single strand till now.

Well, coming back to this Flat Kabuki  😛

Note : My skin type is dry, acne prone and super sensitive (I use baby cream as a moisturizer)

DIY – Setting Spray

We all know that most Makeup Setting Sprays are expensive, but this DIY Makeup Setting Spray can be made for mere pennies!  It has only 2 ingredients and it is healthy for your skin.  What more could you ask? Plus making things yourself can save you a bundle of money.

Glycerin is considered to be hypo-allergenic, if you think you may have any sensitivity to Glycerin, just test a small amount on your inner elbow area and wait a day or so to see then proceed.

Firstly let me take you through the benefits of Glycerin

  1. It can be used as a cleanser.
  2. It can be used as a toner.
  3. It is a wonderful skin moisturizer.
  4. Diluted version makes the hands smooth.
  5. It helps retain the skin water.
  6. It cures oily skin problems like pimples, acne and blackhead.
  7. It’s nature allows it to be used on sensitive skin.
  8. It helps to retain the water in skin.
  9. Wash your feet well and apply glycerin on your cracked heels. It works like magic in healing your cracked heels overnight.
  10. It removes clogged impurities and helps in lightening skin shade.
  11. Glycerin also gives the skin a soft and supple feel.
  12. Apply a coat of glycerin on your nails after removing nail paint. It prevents them from looking dried up.
  13. Apply raw glycerin directly on scars to get rid of them.
  14. People with dry skin can apply diluted glycerin on skin. It is way better than those costly creams and parlor treatments.
  15. It can be used for skin lightening.
  16. It fill up the gaps due to the wrinkles thus makes the skin look younger

So see how awesome would Glycerin be as a setting spray or just a normal moisturizing spray for you after makeup or without makeup (trust me I have used it and I have sensitive pimple prone skin).

Now you know the benefits and you are probably willing to use it so lets continue.

Note – even Men can use it I guess 😛

For this spray, I like to use the little spray bottles of finished rosewater or any small spray bottles because they are small and I can make a small amount to use within a couple of weeks.  Then, I make a fresh batch.

Note – the bottles should be clean and dried out!

Here’s the recipe

(for making 60 ml of setting spray)

  1. 2 teaspoons of Glycerin
  2. Bottled water (or distilled water/drinking water)

 {Yes you are thinking right its this simple hahahaha… comeon take me seriously}

  1. Measure the Glycerin and put it into the spray bottle.
  2. Add the bottled water to fill it.
  3. Shake it gently to incorporate the water and the Glycerin.  You’ll notice that it stays clear once the glycerin is all incorporated.

Spritz/Spray two or three times over your face after you have finished applying your makeup. Don’t hold the spray bottle too close, as you don’t need to make your face wet!  Just a slight mist will do. I find that it’s best to tilt my head up and hold the spray bottle about 24” away from my face while spraying it.

There you go!  It’s not complicated.

Also, It keeps your makeup set for hours, plus, the added bonus is that it holds moisture in your skin!

You’ll love this!
